KARACHI: On Thursday, on market close, PKR continued its upward gain. It went up against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also gained value against Euro, AED and SR in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, on market close, Pakistan Rupee gained 35 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday’s rates closing at 160.20 and 160.25 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 20 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling over yesterday’s rates closing at 160.10 and 160.40 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for buying and one rupee for selling closing at 186.50 and 188 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 35 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 43.35 and 43.70 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and 5 paisas for selling closing at 42.30 and 42.55 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained upward journey for the fourth consecutive day against the greenback and the British pound in the open currency market on Thursday.
Due to lack of buyers’ interest in the market for another day, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 160.10 and Rs 161.50 against the overnight closing rates of Rs 160.50 and Rs 161.70 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 207.00 and Rs 208.60 against the Wednesday’s closing trend of Rs 207.20 and Rs 209.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: ISLAMABAD The rupee gained 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs160.80(buying) and Rs161.90 (selling) against last rate of Rs161(buying) and Rs161.10 (selling).
It closed at Rs160.80(buying) and Rs161.90 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 115,100(selling) and Rs115,000(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
