LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has refuted the claims of division within the Sharif family and categorically said that it was united and will remain so.
"Those who used to talk about N-League or M-League, now got the message that they are together," she said while informally talking to media here on Monday.
Maryam said: "Petty people have been talking about N-or M-League for the last 30 years, but we are united."
She said next year (2021) is the year of elections and the PML-N will win in upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections where general elections are scheduled to be held on November 15.
She warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government that the standards, which are being set by the present government, will also have to face it. The nation is witnessing the political revenge of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, she added.
She further said: "Those who said the Sharif family is divided should keep this in mind that we are united at every point."
Earlier, Maryam hugged her cousin Hamza Shahbaz and party president Shahbaz Sharif, in what was seen as a symbol of unity as she arrived at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court. PML-N Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal was also present.
On the other hand, Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that Sharif family's health is deteriorating with expedition in the process of accountability.
"The Sharif family gets sick in jail and recovers in London," he said.
"The actual reason behind their every disease is long separation from power. M-League has decided to part ways with Shehbaz Sharif and family and their unity is just to receive public sympathy. Those who were loyal to the Sharif family have now turned approvers."
He made it clear that the provincial government will provide all medical facilities to Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz in jail like other inmates.
