LAHORE: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that under the guise of rallies, those who try to harm Pakistan will be dealt with iron hands.
“The opposition should hold rallies but if anyone tried to break the law or attacked the national institutions, will be dealt with iron hands,” she said in her maiden press conference as SA to CM here Wednesday. She maintained that Pakistan’s enemies have attacked while our politicians are tools of the foreign masters. In such a situation, ignorant friends should think about the consequences. “We will thwart the conspiracy to divide Pakistan,” she said.
Criticizing Maryam Nawaz, she said that Maryam was the fish that was suffering without power. “She (Maryam) enjoyed 10 years in power and was feeling the pain of being out of power, not of the people; they will continue to feel the pain of power until 2023,” she added. She said that the PTI’s manifesto is to empower the common man and added that they will increase the pain of the opposition by extending relief to the people.
Talking about price hike, she said that no one knows the heat of inflation better than her. “Inflation is a challenge, but the reasons behind it must be known.
This is the suffering of those who are shedding crocodile tears,” she added. She announced that the talks with Kisan Ittehad have been successful, as they announced to end its protest.
She said: “I do not want to do bombardment on the opposition’s fortification on the first day as Information Minister.” She alleged that the narrative of Jati Umrah is an attempt to weaken the country.
“However, every patriot of the country is ready to defend land against the conspirators and enemies of the country,” she said, adding: “Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar will continue to serve the people and the screams of opposition will continue till 2023.”
Dr. Firdous said they are going to digitalize the Directorate of Public Relations (DGPR) connecting all nine divisions, 36 districts and all information officers.
