KARACHI: An international seminar titled "Pak-Japan Trade: Channel of Social Connectivity" was held on Wednesday at University of Sindh, Jamshoro. This friendship event focused on the business ties and cultural commonalities between Pakistan and Japan.

While speaking to the distinguished gathering, Consul-General of Japan, ISOMURA Toshikazu, said that about 80 Japanese companies were currently operating in Pakistan and some potential Japanese companies were keenly interested in investing into the Pakistani economic growth, however, the Covid-19 pandemic had deflated those hopes for investment.

President of Pakistan-Japan Intellect Forum (PJIF) Iqbal Burma emphasized on various opportunities to promote mutual relations between the two countries. Vice Chancellor of University of Sindh, Prof Dr Mohammad Siddique Kalhoro, while presiding over the seminar mentioned that Japanese investors must be encouraged to invest in Pakistan as the country is becoming digitally sound and tech savvy.
