With the return of smart lockdowns, case numbers rising and record highs not seen since July, the predicted second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic is well and truly here.

Television host and politician Aamir Liaquat and his wife Tuba tested positive for coronavirus this week, the latest in a long string of high profile cases reported recently.

On Thursday, Tuba revealed on Instagram that the couple is self-isolating at home. Hoping for a speedy recovery, Tuba also asked fans for prayers and well-wishes.

"Salam everyone. @iamaamirliaquat and I have tested positive for coronavirus. We are isolating ourselves at home."

The PTI MNA from Karachi also confirmed the couple had tested positive a day earlier, and hinted at the herbs and remedies the couple is taking to ease symptoms, including ginger, cloves and cinnamon.

Earlier this month, model-actor Saheefa Jabbar Khattak also tested positive for the virus, as well as singer Jawad Ahmad, model Farwa Kazmi and Sabaat actor Usman Mukhtar.
