Inaugurating Hasan Abdal Railway Station on Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the up-gradation will now provide better facilities to all the passengers.
He said railway has always been an important part of his vision of Naya Pakistan because of its affordable mode of travel for common man. He said unfortunately, the British infrastructure of rail network of 1861 the country inherited at the time of partition was cut down instead of expanding.
The PM said the upgradation of Hassan Abdal railway station, would also facilitate the Sikh pilgrims. He said he wants all citizens regardless of their religions, to have equal rights to practice their faith easily.
Talking about Main Line-1 project with China, the PM said it would ensure massive economic activity in the country besides creating job opportunities. He said once it is completed, the prroject would reduce the distance between Karachi to Lahore to seven hours. He further said that with under-passes, bridges and gates, it would become a modern railway.
