LAHORE: Two more ships carrying 26,700 metric tons and 25,000 metric tons of sugar will be reaching Pakistan soon from Brazil and Egypt respectively in addition to 103,700 metric tons already reached through three vessels till now, said Cane Commissioner Punjab Muhammad Zaman Wattoo.
He said that first batch was of 25,000 metric tons while the second batch of sugar was of 52,5000 metric tons already reached the country while the third batch of 26,000 metric tons arrived from Egypt and unloading of sugar will start from tonight.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Zaman Wattoo said that 18,000 metric tons of sugar had already been dispatched to all the districts for sale on government prescribed rates while the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has also lifted 25,000 metric tons share from the imported commodity.
