PESHAWAR: The joint opposition's Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is waiting for permission to hold its public meeting scheduled on Nov 22 in Peshawar.
"We have dispatched an application regarding the venue of public meeting to district administration on November 5, but still the administration has not given us any positive response," ANP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ) general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak told media after chairing a meeting of an administrative and supervising committee of the PDM here at Bacha Khan Markaz on Monday. Those who attended were included Samar Haroon Bilour, Shahi Khan Shirani, Mukhtiar Khan, Shakirullah Shinwari and Malik Faqir Ali (ANP), Senator Robina Khalid. Samia Munir (PPP), Abdul Jalil Jan, Asif Iqbal Daudzai, Maulana Amanullah Haqqani (JUI), Rashid Mahmood, Malik Nadeem (PML-N), Tariq Khan, Dr. Farooq Afzal (QWP), Haider Khan advocate and Dr Zakir Shah of PMAP and JIH respectively. Briefing the media, Sardar Hussain Babak said Peshawar public meeting of the PDM would be larger than other already held public meetings of the opposition alliance and a tsunami of the people will emerge in the provincial metropolis. He said no one can stop them from holding public meeting and alleged that district administration is using delaying tactics. He warned the district administration that either they allow or not, a tsunami of the people will come out on Dalazak Road.
The ANP stalwart said only three public meetings of the opposition had frightened the government and using different tactics to fail their public meeting in Peshawar, but still the world will see the joint public meeting of the opposition parties.
