LAHORE: The government on Monday failed to introduce official business in the Punjab Assembly on Monday due to the protest of opposition. The proceedings of the House halted by the opposition for not issuing the production orders of opposition leader in Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz.
The opposition tore up the copies of the agenda and waved them in the House. The Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi adjourned the session till 2 pm on Tuesday (today) due to the protest.
The Punjab Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to increase the powers of the committees.
Earlier, while speaking on the floor of the House PML-N MPA demanded that government should hold a judicial inquiry on the death of a farmer during police custody. He said that government instead of giving relief to the farmers they were torturing them by the police.
