ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has dismissed a deputy director of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from service for alleged violation of government servant rules. An official of the Ministry of Interior said that the FIA had forwarded charge sheet and statement of allegations against Sajjad Mustafa Bajwa, deputy director FIA.
The authorised officer of the Ministry of Interior Additional Secretary AS-III or inquiry officer served charge sheet and statement of allegations against Mustafa Bajwa, he said. He said that the FIA's officer did not appear before the inquiry officer, despite he being served call up notice and warning letter.
The inquiry officer concluded that Sajjad Mustafa Bajwa was found guilty of charge of inefficiency, leaking sensitive information, and violation of the government servant's rules by appearing on media with a self-proclaimed defence not based on facts.
The official said that the inquiry officer proved all the charges against the FIA officer, and he was served with a show cause notice as well as accorded personal hearing by the authority.
"On the basis of the charge sheet findings of the inquiry and perusal of record, I being the authority, impose major penalty of dismissal from service upon Sajjad Mustafa Bajwa, deputy director FIA,' the official said, while quoting the inquiry report.
