(Karachi) Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif met Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Head Quarters (GHQ), a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, the Iranian foreign minister and COAS Bajwa discussed issues of mutual interest and regional security, as well as the Afghan reconciliation process.
The army chief said enhanced Pakistan-Iran cooperation will have a positive impact on regional peace and stability.
The Iranian minister appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional stability, especially the Afghan peace process. He pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.
Earlier, the Iranian foreign minister visited the Foreign Office and met with Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The Iranian foreign minister also planted a tree at the Foreign Ministry. Muhammad Jawad Zarif will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Alvi.
On November 10, Zarif arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit. He was received by foreign ministry officials, and Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Syed Mohammad Hosseini.
