LAHORE: With a view to streamline matters of technical educations, the chiefs of Technical Education and Vocation Authority (TEVTA), Punjab Vocation Training Council (PVTC) and Punjab Skill Development Fund (PSDF) will be included in the Board of Punjab Skill Development Authority (PSDA).
This was decided at a meeting of the TEVT (technical education and vocational training) presided over by Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by TEVTA Chief Operating Officer Akhtar Abbas Bhrwana, PSDF Chief Executive Officer Jawad Khan, PVTC Chairman Maj Shahnawz (r) and Additional Project Director Haroon Naseer reviewed the matters pertaining to preparation of skill workforce and promotion of technical education in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the minister said technical education institutions are being brought under the umbrella of Punjab Skills Development Authority to organize and streamline the agenda of developing technical education on modern lines.
The promotion of skills education is imperative to overcome the issues of joblessness and poverty and this would help to develop skilled youth according to the market needs, he added.
