KARACHI: The patron-in-chief of the United Business Group (UBG), S. M. Muneer, said on Thursday that the entire nation is proud of its Armed Forces and urged that the security forces should not be dragged in internal political issues.
“We are safe because of our Armed Forces at our frontiers and their sacrifices,” Muneer stated while speaking at a luncheon meeting by Essani Group in honour of the candidates of the UBG for the upcoming elections of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
He noted that the Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, is very concerned about the issues of the country and business community.
Muneer also appealed for boycotting the products of France.
About the upcoming elections of the FPCCI, Munir hoped that the UBG would clean sweep these elections and said that candidates with the spirit of serving the community have been nominated by the group.
“Business community across the country is ready to cast vote in favour of the candidates of the UBG,” Muneer stated and added that the business community has announced in all the cities to campaign in favour of the UBG.
He said that the leadership of the UBG has won the hearts of business community through its character and work and has united it.
Business community leader Mian Zahid Hussain speaking on the occasion said that the FPCCI was a serious platform of the business community, so serious and able people should be elected for betterment of national economy.
He said that if incompetent people were elected, it would create scenes that would be detrimental to the economy.
Khalid Tawab, presidential candidate of the UBG for the FPCCI elections, said that the business community was satisfied with the efforts of the UBG for the economy and vowed to further their trust through more productive work.
Leaders of the UBG, including Javed Iqbal, Farhanur Rahman and others also spoke on the occasion.
