We already have an idea that Samsung will do some great things with its upcoming Galaxy S9 flagship. One of those things is recreating its classic default ringtone ‘Over the Horizon’ that it has kept since 2011, into an advanced and soothing version.
Every year the Korean tech giant collaborates with different artists to create new version of its signature sound. But this time, Samsung claims it recreated the tune that will take the listeners ‘away on an atmospheric journey of discovery’. Partnered with Icelandic composer Pétur Jónsson, the company created a new version of the tune that feels beautiful to ears.

As Android Central reports, the company described their new tune ‘Over the Horizon 2018’ as, “Listening to this year’s piece by Jónsson, you will find that the notes arouse the most pure, fundamental elements of the human sentiment that often remain hidden in our daily lives. In this way, the latest version of Samsung's brand sound has the power to relax the mind and heal the soul, thus resonating with all who hear it, regardless of their age.”
Starting with a soft piano, the tune slowly adds up new instruments. The video does not only include the artist playing the instruments but also includes lots of mesmerizing and breath-taking landscapes of Iceland.
According to Android Headlines, this version will be included in both Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, which will be unpacked at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 25.
