The Supreme Court was informed on Wednesday that the federal government had issued a notification to fill vacant posts of judges in all special courts. A three-member bench, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khwaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, was hearing the case of shortage of judges in special courts.
Deputy Attorney-General Aleem Abbasi informed the court that notifications had been issued to fill vacant posts of judges in special courts, including banking, anti-terrorism, accountability and anti-corruption and central judge Karachi and Hyderabad. The court on the statement of the Deputy Attorney-General, disposed of the case.
