President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday approved appointment of Major General Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak (Retd) as Member Federal Public Service Commission.
The summary received from the Prime Minister's office said that a post of Member Federal Public Service Commission had fallen vacant due to completion of tenure of Major General Ovais Mushtaq Qureshi (Retd) with effect from May 05, 2012. He was appointed against the post of Member Federal Public Service Commission reserved for retired armed forces officers.
The nomination of Major General Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak (Retd) was recommended by the Defence Division, it said.
The Establishment division subsequently proposed the said appointment for a normal term of three-year and requested the prime minister to advise the President for his appointment against the said vacant post.-PR
