ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shibli Faraz on Monday said the government was ready for talks, but with only responsible members who sat in the Parliament.
While addressing a press conference along with Faisal Vawda and Fawad Chaudhry, Faraz said the government could not hold talks with someone like Maryam Nawaz or Fazlur Rehman who were not a part of the parliament.
He said the opposition's campaign was aimed at 'creating chaos' in the country to protect their 'looted money'.
He said in the PDM's rally at Larkana, martyrs of Balochistan were not mentioned. The national institutions were criticised in the Larkana gathering.
If the cases of the opposition are eased, everything will be fine.
The campaign of this group is going on for one slogan only, which is, save corruption.
At the shrine of Benazir Bhutto, her enemies were seated, he said.
The minister said the PDM's only agenda was to safe their politics and money.
He said criticism of national institutions at the Larkana rally was reprehensible.
If the election was stolen, political opponents should bring evidence, the PDM parties should tell when they will resign.
Federal Minister Faisal Vawda said the opposition leader was the uncle (Shehbaz Sharif), but Maryam Nawaz was demanding resignation.
He said that the opposition was leveling allegations of election theft without providing any evidence, and if the election was rigged why they did not go to the election commission.
Vawda said Maryam Nawaz was a beneficiary owner in the Panama case.
He alleged that this "incompetent woman was expelled from college". He said that Maryam Nawaz talked about the economy of the country yesterday.
The minister said it was the incumbent government which introduced the first textile policy of the country.
He said textile, cement, and automobile industries, were booming due to the prudent policies of the government.
The minister said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was going to be the second majority party in the Senate, why would the PPP members resign. He said that they should tell us in which year and month the resignation would come.
He said that a maulana spoke against the state institutions yesterday. This is maulana's country, he can do whatever he wants to, but we will not allow this, he added.
He said the military stands with the elected government and they were doing their job, criticising them was not justified.
He said they talk about Musharraf...he went abroad in their own tenure.
He said the army chief was chosen in their own tenure and had been given extension too. Now, what is bothering them, he added.
Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said yesterday's meeting was shameful for the PPP and a lesson for the PML-N.
When Bhutto was hung, the PML-N was distributing sweets and was happy on the martial law.
He said Maryam and Bilawal wanted to do their first job as the prime minister of Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz might have not even worked in her home.
He said they wanted to bring the culture of succession in their so-called kingdom.
He said the PDM platform was being used against Punjab, federation and state institutions.
He said the government was ready to hold talks with only senior and mature leaders from the opposition.
He said the only one who was getting benefit from the absence of Shehbaz Sharif was Maryam Nawaz.
He said Maryam lacked basic manners; the way she was talking about Musharraf was validating her treatment with other senior fellows in the party.
He said Musharraf fought three wars. And, Miftah Ismail who is a PhD scholar stands behind like her followers.
He also claimed about the clashes between Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif.
While responding to a question, he said the government had provided the opposition a platform even when they seem to be weak, but government cannot talk with the political interns such as Maryam and Bilawal but only with the senior and responsible leadership.
Replying to another question, he said the government was seeking their resignations but no one was coming forward and as far as Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif were concerned they both were not in favor of resignations.
