ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) agreed on Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP) at the cost of Rs739 billion through Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and the public-private partnership (PPP) mode of financing.
The CDWP met with the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, in the chair at P-Block Secretariat on Monday.
Senior officials from the Planning Commission and the federal ministries/divisions participated in the meeting.
The representatives from the provincial governments also participated.
The Karachi Transformation Plan worth Rs739 billion was discussed to improve required civic amenities in Karachi in consultation with the government of Sindh
The Karachi Transformation Plan covers water supply, sewerage treatment and disposal, solid waste management, storm water drains, improvement/rehabilitation of internal roads, and mass-transit system.
The CDWP also approved a Concept Clearance Paper presented by the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) namely, "Foreign assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for project Rural Economic Transformation Project" $100 million in all districts of the KP.
