Eight Coast Guards personnel killed near Gwadar

At least eight personnel of Coast Guards were killed when gunmen wearing the Frontier Corps uniform attacked their checkpost in Gwadar district on Saturday. According to Public Relations Officer of Coast Guards, the impersonators, who were more than eight in number, fired rockets and resorted to firing at the checkpost in Peshi Kan area, some 35 km of Gwadar.
All the eight personnel of Coast Guards present inside the checkpost, sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot. The assailants managed to escape the scene. "The armed men, who came in many vehicles, were wearing the FC uniform- a bid to defame the Frontier Corps," the Coast Guards official added. Soon after the incident, officials of law enforcement agencies and local administration reached the site and shifted the bodies to the district headquarter hospital for medico-legal formalities.
