Five gunned down in different areas of Karachi

At least five persons were killed in separate incidents of violence in the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, a bullet-riddled body of a cop was recovered from Mirza Adam Khan Road, Lyari in the limits of Garden police station. The victim, who was identified as Faisal, 27, son of Abdul Razzak, was kidnapped and then murdered. Police said the deceased was deployed in Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC).
A 35-year-old man was gunned down near Lighthouse area in the jurisdiction of Nabi Bux police station. Police said the victim, who was identified as Abdul Waheed, 35, received multiple bullet wounds and was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities.
Another man, Qasim, 28, was shot dead in the precincts of Kalakot police station. Police said unidentified armed riders assaulted the victim near his residence when he was busy in chit-chat with his friends. The deceased, who used to run business at Jodia bazaar, had no political or religious affiliation. Police suspected that he might have been murdered over personal ground. The body was shifted to CHK for medico legal formalities and later handed over to his heirs.
A woman was shot dead in Qaimkhani Mohalla, Baldia in the limits of Mochko police station. Police said the deceased, Zulaikha, 26, wife of Qudrat ullah, had contracted freewill marriage few years ago and was a mother of two. The body was shifted to (CHK) for post mortem. Another bullet-riddled body of a man was found in the limits of Karli police station. The identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to CHK and later moved to Edhi Morgue.
