Five killed in various incidents of violence

At least five people were killed and many others injured in different violent incidents in city on Tuesday, police and rescue sources said. Police found a body of man beneath Lyari Expressway in PIB Colony in the limits of PIB police station. The deceased was identified as Mujahid, 35, son Mani Khan. Police said that unknown men kidnapped him, and killed him with multiple gun shots and threw his body at abandoned place.
The deceased was the resident of Liaquatabad No 5, and used to work at Seylani Welfare Trust, Gulshan-e-Iqbal campus. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. In yet another incident, unknown men riding car threw the body of man near Beta Chowrangi in Bilal Colony Sector 7-C falling in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till filing of this story. Police said that deceased was strangulated. The body was shifted to hospital for post-mortem examination. Separately, Site-A police also found a body of a young man from Metrovile Block-1. The deceased was identified as 25-year old Mohammad Umar, a resident of the same area.
Police said that unknown men killed Mohammad Umar with sharp edge tool at his house and fled. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. In addition, a man was gunned down by unknown assailants at Juman Shah Road falling in the limits of Kalakot Police station.
He was identified as Abdul Khaliq Khakheli, 35, son of Mohammad Hassan Khaskhali. Police said that unidentified men first kidnapped him and after torturing him threw his body in abandoned place and fled. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. A man was shot dead by unknown attackers in Shoe Market area in the limits of Garden police station.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Aslam son of Jan Mohammad. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, unknown assailants riding on three motorbikes threw hand grenades at New Quetta Hotel, Faqeer Colony in the limits of Mominabad police station. Police said that assailants first opened fire and then lobbed hand grenade at the hotel, leaving five people injured. The injured were identified as Abdullah, 50, son Hameedullah, Inayat-u-Rehman, 34, son Gous-u-Rehman, Irfan, 20, son of Azizullah, Shahmim-u-Rehman, 24, son of Abdur Rehman and Owais.
