Fata secretariat urged to promote culture, sports

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar said the major activity of Fata secretariat should bring culture and sports to the forefront in tribal areas. This he said during a presentation of Face off Project by Chairman Hunerkada Jamal Shah at governor's House Peshawar, last Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by the Chief co-ordinator Hunerkada Qaisar Khan Advocate, The Team Leader Hunerkada Raheel Khan and Organiser Hunerkada Daniyal.
The Governor was briefed in a presentation about different workshops to be arranged in Fata to build indigenous culture narrative to create tolerance and creative engagement of the people with their society. It was said that different projects in Fata included film making, arts and craft, visual art, theatre, literary workshop, media working, children art camp to discover their strengths, capabilities and sports events for men and specially women to bring them in the mainstream of life.
The Governor said we must educated people of Fata through different methods like education through entertainment, education through cultural programs and education especially through media to enable them to take part in every field of life. He said that tribal people had a rich culture full of social and moral norms. He added that tribal people are the most civilised nation in the world and that real and soft image of Fata should be presented to the people. He further said that tribal people should be given technical education and skill in different fields to makes them able to keep abreast of the time.
He said that traditional way of life and standard of living of tribal people should be given a modern touch to fulfil the needs of changing times. He said it is difficult to inculcate new traits in a culture but there is nothing bad to adopt good and positive traits of other cultures. He further said that we are in a civil war which is not only a war of weapons and said that media should play its best role in this regard. He said we want peace and development in Fata and continued that tribal people should co-operate with us in this mission.
