Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has expressed concern over the increasing criminal activities during the holy month of Ramazan. Speaking at a high-level meeting on law and order at the CM's House on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said it was joint responsibility of police, rangers and all law enforcement agencies to make prompt, concerted and co-ordinated efforts to combat the criminals and ensure peace in the city.
The meeting was attended among others by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Sohail Akbar Shah, IG Police Sindh Fayaz Leghari, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon, Deputy DG Rangers Brigadier Muhammad Rafique Khan, Commander ISI, Commander MI, Joint Director IB, Additional IG Police Iqbal Mehmood, Commissioner Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh, Additional IG Special Branch, DIGs of Police East, West, South, Deputy Commissioners of Karachi and others.
The Chief Minister stressed that peaceful atmosphere must be restored at all cost, patrolling of police and rangers be enhanced and prompt security measures be evolved at all markets, commercial areas and trade centres. The Chief Minister said that killing of innocent people was very serious offence and the same must be property looked after while the affected areas must be properly monitored. He further said that the consulates and other foreign missions be properly protected and foreign teams and NGOs engaged in assistance of needy people must be provided necessary protection.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also presided over a meeting regarding Local Government Department on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Sindh Minister for Local Government Aga Siraj Durrani, Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon, Secretary Local Government Lala Fazalur Rehman and Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran Baloch. The meeting discussed matters pertaining to various local councils, their administrative and financial issues.
Nawab Laghari joins PPP: Former Central President Taraqi Pasand Students Federation Nawab Laghari on Tuesday called on Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM's House. He expressed his full confidence in the leadership of President and Co-Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh and programme, manifesto and policies of PPP. He announced his joining the party.-PR
