People belonging to different walks of life have strongly criticised the poor performance of government as a result the economic condition of the country is deteriorating with every passing day. The alleged that nothing had been done by the government for the welfare of masses as a result of which their miseries were multiplying every day because explosion of Price Hike Bomb was the key instrument of the government as a result of which the people were facing serious economic constrains during holy month of Ramazan.
They said that in order to camouflage its negligence and ineffective polices the government was exploding price hike bomb on every weekend just to diverted the attention of the people and hoodwinking and betraying the poor masses. Due to the electricity load shedding the industrial had suffered a lot because the productivity was at its lowest ebb in Sialkot, which is only export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country and handsome foreign exchange earner.
The local exporter community was playing an instrumental role not only in strengthening the national economy but also in providing employment to hundreds of the industrial worker was confronting with multifarious problems due to load shedding in accomplishment of foreign orders on time, which would ultimately create serious problems not only for the business community but also for the national economy.
Besides, the foreign buyers are not willing to give new orders to the Pakistani business community because of prevailing unstable electricity situation of the country. If situation remained the same Pakistan will face a serious set back and lose its credit in international market. Most of the members of the business community were considering shifting their business to foreign countries due to unstable conditions especially the high prices of petroleum, gas and electricity.
The cast of production and labour charges have been increased to many folds while the foreign buyers are not ready to revise the prices. The businessmen were already in a great trouble due increase of Sui gas, electricity, petroleum prices because of production of all exportable items has gone much higher and rendering exporters incompatible, expensive and uncompetitive to other supplier countries that are not enjoying their government's friendly policies and support but here in Pakistan everything is adversely going on.
In order to strengthen the industrial sector government should provide handsome financial subsidy on utility bills to facilitate the business community of the country. The industrial sector was playing instrumental role not only in fetching highly valuable foreign exchange but also provide large-scale employment opportunities to the skilled and unskilled work force in the country.
Sialkot is basically industrial city and globally knows for its quality products and craftsmanship globally. The city is producing 99 percent exportable products but due to prolonged and unscheduled power load shedding of 12-18 hours was hitting the industrial sector of Sialkot, which is hub of cottage industry and only export-oriented city of the country. It is very unfortunate that load shedding was damaging the national economy adversely and if the situation remained the same the industrial sector would be collapsed which would bring tsunami of unemployment in the country.
They urged upon the concerned authorities that Sialkot should be exempted from load shedding keeping in view the importance of the city. Similarly, the graph of price hike has been increased to many folds resultantly the common man was facing serious hardships as well as the ratio of committing suicide was also increasing the country. The government was considering establishing utility stores in various parts to facilitate the poor segment of the society but the question is why government was ignoring the middle and salaried classes that are also hand to mouth in the country.
It is pitiable that rice are being sold at Rs 110 per kg in rice growing country while mutton Rs 600 per kg, beef Rs 350 while the prices of mutton and pulses had become equal and other articles of daily use were being sold at much high cost fruit was also being sold at very rates banana Rs 200 to Rs 300 per dozen and other fruit items were also being sold at very rate which are beyond the purchasing power of the common man but no body is daring to check the price hike and it seems that there no sign of existence of administration in Sialkot.
