All Pakistan Textile Mills Association and GIZ, a German development agency, are jointly embarking upon a strategy to reuse around 400 billion litres of industrial water. Their efforts are to be applauded since Pakistan's textile industry has been substantially affected by infrastructure shortages, whether electricity, gas, or water. Pakistan's textile exports have dipped by over 10% and the prime reason behind this significant decline is infrastructure shortages and deficiencies.
Moreover, industrial water reuse would also help reduce to a formidable extent industrialists' dependence on sub-soil water. Industrialists hope that the strategy would become a reality in a fast-track mode and that industries would take advantage of this initiative in the larger interest of the country.
