26 Jul, 2012

"We want trade not aid from United States and European countries and American Government should bridge the gap of Pak-US trust deficit through trade", said Mian Anis A Sheikh President of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI). He said Pakistanis were not happy on resumption of transit for Nato supplies as the compensation from US was not reciprocated as it should keeping in view the loss of human lives in thousands in the war against terror as frontline state and an ally of USA.
Anis A Sheikh voiced that the perception of USA in Pakistan is equally negative as the perception of Pakistan in USA which should be improved by building public stakes and granting preferred market access to Pakistan for exports to US. He said over 40 American companies were successfully operating in Pakistan since last many decades and not a single company was closed down, hence, more US companies should come and invest in Pakistan and capture the markets of three trading blocks whereby Pakistan is located in the centre.
He said that the US companies may establish industries in Pakistan and export to countries of ECO Block, SAARC block and the Central Asian Countries (CAS). He suggested that United States should provide aid, if essential, for investing in the projects in Pakistan for the benefits of masses.
