Power pilferage detection teams constituted on the directives of Chief Executive Pesco has chalked out strategy against illegal connections and removal of direct hooks through out Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In this regard a detection team in Peshawar Circle found an illegal meter in Dabgary Peshawar in the jurisdiction of Pesco Dabgary sub-division.
An assessment bill of Rs 30,000 served to the customer while disciplinary action against SDO Dabgari has also been initiated. Similarly in Wazir Bagh sub-division an amount of Rs 0.2 million has been recovered from defaulters. Three plazas with Direct Connection was caught red handed in Bannu Circle, Assessment bills have been served and FIRs have been lodged against the owners of the Plazas in the concerned police station.
The detection team also checked Wazir Bagh sub-division and tempered and defective meters were replaced immediately. In Pesco Khyber team thoroughly checked meters in Tajabad area. Direct connection of a Plaza also found and FIR has been lodged despite of Assessment bills In Mardan Circle jurisdiction in Shiekh Maltoon Town detection team checked and disconnected defaulters, while tempered meters has been replaced.
It is pertinent to mention here that these teams are performing their job from the last 12-day in Pesco's 6 Circles with the special task to reduce line losses and improve recovery position has been given to these teams. Drive against illegal use of electricity has been launched under the Supervision of Chief Engineer Customer Services.
On this occasion, Chief Executive Pesco said those Pesco employees who co-operate with customers in electricity stealing are a bad name to the Department and strict disciplinary action will be taken against those employees. CEO Pesco also appeals to the public to avoid illegal use of electricity and remove all direct hooks immediately, other wise strict action will be taken against the culprits. Pesco also appealed for co-operation to over come load shedding and ensure un interrupted power supply to all the consumers.
