ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Imran Khan was informed that foreign inflows through Roshan Digital Account (RDAs) has reached $436 million and overseas Pakistanis have been provided facilities in 97 countries to open RDAs accounts.
A meeting presided over by the Prime Minister was informed that so far, overseas Pakistanis in 97 countries opened 82,728 RDAs accounts with majority of the Pakistanis livening in UK, US, UAE and Saudi Arabia availed the facilities provided through RDAs.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Reza Baqir, Deputy Governor SBP Murtaza Syed, Dr Waqar Masood and others.
The participants of the meeting were informed about the role of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finance Ministry, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Federal Board of Revenue as well as Humans Resource Development in promoting RDAs and providing incentives, and consequently the overseas Pakistanis are showing huge interest in it.
The meting was also briefed about the road map to increase remittances of RDAs and awareness campaign.
The Prime Minister said that overseas Pakistanis are assets during the discussion on facilities provided to the overseas Pakistanis under Roshan Digital Accounts.
The prime minister directed to finalise the proposals at earliest to bring about innovations to the facilities offered to the overseas Pakistanis for RDAs and for investment.
