Mukarram Bukhari retires

Syed Mukarram Sultan Bukhari retired from service on reaching the age of superannuation on Wednesday (25th July). He served Karachi Development Authority, City District Government Karachi and the Government of Sindh on different positions for 34 years.
On selection from the Sindh Public Service Commission, Syed Mukarram Sultan Bukhari joined the Government service on 31st March, 1978 as an Information Officer, Information Department, Government of Sindh. Later, he joined Karachi Development Authority, on 17th November, 1981 as Public Relations Officer. He worked as Director Public Relations, KDA for more than ten years. He also served on important senior positions in Karachi Development Authority including Member Administration and Lands KDA, Secretary KDA, Director Recoveries KDA.
Bukhari, twice served as Director General, Public Relations, Sindh and the Deputy Secretary Information in Information Department, Government of Sindh. He also worked as Consultant Publicity, Export Promotion Bureau, Government of Pakistan for about one and half year. During existence of the City District Government Karachi (2001 - 2011), Syed Mukarram Sultan Bukhari served on the important position of District Co-ordination Officer, CDGK for ten years. During this tenure he also held charge of District Officer, Human Resource Management (four times), District Officer, Media Management (two times).
While working as Director/ District Officer, Recoveries in Karachi Development Authority and in City District Government Karachi, for four times, he made record recoveries in collection/ realisation of old outstanding dues from the allottees of different category plots in KDA Schemes and Townships, facilitating improvement in the financial conditions of KDA/CDGK. Syed Mukarram Sultan Bukhari, started his career in journalism in the year 1972 and worked as Assistant Editor in Weekly INSAF (Sindhi) and Weekly NEW ERA (English) published by his father, Syed Jamaluddin Bukhari from Larkana.-PR
