ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser Wednesday distanced himself from the "horse-trading" video that allegedly shows PTI MPAs receiving money to vote against their party in the Senate elections 2018.
He tweeted, “The place shown in the video is neither Speaker House Peshawar nor it has anything to do with me. In 2018, Chairman Imran Khan said that such a transaction had taken place and it was the decision of the entire party to take action against these members. Such statements are merely an attempt to divert attention from the issue.”
Referring to the statement against him by former PTI MPA Mayar, the speaker said, "Statements like these are only an attempt to deflect attention from the actual issue."
