HRW wheat bids steady

Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the US Plains held steady Friday amid demand from mills and continued slow farmer selling, traders said. Export demand was slow due to higher domestic prices in the wake of the worst drought in 56 years devastating the corn and soybean crops in the United States. The US winter wheat harvest in the southern Plains is complete and farmers are cutting the spring wheat in North and South Dakota and Minnesota.
