At least four persons including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and a worker of Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) were fallen prey to ongoing spree of targeted killings in separate incidents in metropolis here on Saturday. According to police and rescue sources, a man Shahzad, 28 son of Abdul Sattar was killed near his residence in Hazara Chowk in the limits of Mominabad police station. Police said the victim was hit by multiple bullets and died on spot.
The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his heirs. SHO Nasir Mehmood suspected personal reasons behind his murder. An activist of MQM Khurram, 30 son of Sultan was gunned down in a drive-by shooting near Ziauddin Hospital. The victim received multiple gunshots and died on the spot. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and later delivered to his family. Police said the victim was active worker of unit 183 and was former security supervisor of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He was resident of Liaquatabad.
Similarly, a 30-year-old-man Rasheed Ali son of Amir Bux killed near UBL complex in the limits of Jauharabad police station. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The deceased was the resident of Surjani Town area. Another man was killed in a drive-by shooting near Nagan Chowrangi. Police said the victim received multiple gunshots and died on spot. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. Police said the deceased was identified as Safdar Baloch, an activist of PPP.
