Monitoring Judge for NAB cases, prosecutor General Sindh meet

Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Monitoring Judge for NAB cases to review the restored cases, in view of the Supreme Court judgement dated December 16, 2009 declaring NRO null and void, held a meeting with the Prosecutor General Sindh to assess the situation of the restored cases in the province of Sindh on Saturday.
According to a press release issued here in the meeting it transpired that 58 NAB cases and 6 other cases stood restored in the wake of the apex Court judgement of December 16. Out of the NAB cases 30 cases have been disposed of while rests are at various stages of prosecution / investigation.
For the other six cases one case was disposed of by the Anti-Terrorism Court while in another case accused is absconding. The remaining four cases are at various stages of arguments. The Monitoring Judge directed the prosecutor General to complete the prosecution in a most efficient and professional manner and ensure that the cases are decided on merit at the earliest possible time, it concluded.-PR
