ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) today (Monday) would hold an important meeting to take decisions regarding the closure of schools and the conduction of exams amid surging coronavirus cases in the country, it is learnt.
According to the sources, the NCOC would decide on the future course of action due to third wave of COVID-19 in the country. They said that the NCOC meeting is expected to decide the implementation of smart lockdowns in more areas across the country.
The country is currently under the threat of third wave of the coronavirus, which is said to be more lethal and dangerous by the health authorities.
The sources said that violations of the government's coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were being reported in most of the schools where examinations were being conducted. They said that a proposal to impose section 188 in Islamabad would also be discussed in the meeting.
Under Section 188, the shopkeepers who do not comply with the coronavirus safety measures can be arrested, they said.
