02 Aug, 2012

Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain has urged upon the district level officers responsible for implementation of building by laws, commercialisation and town planning to take care of the legal aspects of the land conversion and directed them to fulfil all the legal requirements before awarding NOC in any case.
The Commissioner has constituted a special committee to perform a detailed survey in every case of land conversion for commercialisation which will give the final verdict about allowing the conversion or otherwise. The announcement of new procedure of land conversion was made in a meeting presided by the Commissioner Tahir Hussain. DCO Naseem Sadiq, Director General FDA Chaudhry Ashraf, Director Development Chaudhry Asif, DO (Spatial Planning) Sherien Nuton and the relevant TMOs attended.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the participants not to allow any violation of building by laws in the under construction plazas at any cost. If any malafide intention in this regard is found on the building site, the construction work be stopped without sparing anyone. Tahir Hussain directed to ensure that the assessment of conversion fee must be done in a transparent manner in every aspect. The meeting reviewed the cases of new petrol pumps and plazas construction, establishment of industrial godown halls and commercialisation of agriculture land as well as residential units into commercialised schools and private hospitals.
