Three more peacocks die at Tharparkar

Three more peacocks died at Tharparkar desert due to the dreadful viral disease called `Ranikhet', taking the death toll to 165 in a brief period of 24 days. According to a private news channel here on Wednesday the two peacocks died under the treatment of wildlife department at Bepohar, while the third one severely struck by the Ranikhet danced to death at Bhanbhan in the district of Tharparkar, taking the death toll to 165 so far.
Only in Tharparkar 129 peacocks fall prey to this mysterious disease. Local people said the root cause of this viral disease is the hens, which spread among other avian including the peacocks and it could not be controlled unless it was eradicated from where it was originated.
