KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) President Saleem-uz-Zaman has said that industries are being badly affected due to sewage problems and non-supply of water which is having a direct impact on the national economy. The business community has been facing serious problems due to the poor performance of the Water Board and there is a deep concern among the industrialists.
He said that if the problems of water supply and sewage to the industries could not be solved on priority than how can we expect stability in industrial production which is a key requirement for the economic stability of the country. Saleem-uz-Zaman said that the present administration has failed miserably in providing basic necessities like water and its drainage.
He further said that industries run the economy of the country and solving the problems faced by them should be the top priority of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board. Chairperson KATI’s Standing Committee on Water and Sewerage Nighat Awan said that the basic infrastructure in the Korangi industrial area is in a state of dismal condition and the sewage has badly affected the industries and roads.
