Punjab Auqaf Board approves Rs 2,409.525 million budget

The annual budget 2012-13 worth Rs 2409.525 million of Punjab Auqaf Board was approved in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Auqaf, Haji Ehsan ud Din Qureshi, here on Thursday. An amount of Rs 1291.473 million will be the income from various heads whereas Rs 1118.052 million is the target expenditures in the year 2012-13.
An amount of Rs 130.236 million would be fetched through rent, Rs 234.481 million through lease money, Rs 585.361 million through cash box, Rs 45.141 million through shoe-keeping, Rs 6.807 million through flowers contracts, Rs 62.508 million from miscellaneous head, Rs 8.191 million from transfer fee and Rs 47.5 million income will be generated from investment.
The Secretary Auqaf apprised the participants of the meeting about different features of the budget 2012-13. Addressing the meeting, Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsan ud Din Qureshi said the government was paying special attention to the provision of best facilities to the devotees and looking after of shrines of saints.
He said Auqaf Department was spending money received from the shrines on the welfare of deserving people in which grant was also provided to the poor women under dowry fund and the amount under the head of social welfare had been increased in the current budget of the department.
