ST, FE returns date: KATI demands extension in deadline

23 May, 2021

KARACHI: President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Saleem-uz-Zaman has demanded extension in Sales Tax and Federal Excise returns submission date.

He urged Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Asim Ahmed that the business community was unable to file the returns of April 2021 in time due to Ramazan, Eid holidays, lockdown, and restricted office timings.

President KATI urged the Chairman FBR to extend the date to May 31, 2021, so that the business community can submit the returns with ease.

Earlier, the date of Sales Tax and Fed Excise returns was extended to May 18, 2021, which was wasted in Eid holidays, and the business community had only 2 days to fill and submit the return, he added.

Saleem-uz-Zaman further states, “NCOC decided to restrict working hours and imposed lockdown across the country which makes things difficult for the business community, considering the scenario FBR must facilitate business community and extend the submission date for at least 2 weeks, enabling us to file the returns with ease.”
