Power breakdown damages instillations of KWSB

The recent electricity breakdown in the city has not only caused heavy damage to the water supply pumping stations but also to the sewerage system of the city. Due to the power outages, sewerage system came to a halt at many sewerage stations and leakages in the lines have been reported.
According to Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director Misbahuddin Farid who surveyed the work progress at Jamila Pumping Station, Chakewara Pumping Station, Lee Market Pumping Station and Clifton Pumping Station, the entire team of KWSB was busy to repair the damages occurred at the water board's installations. He has directed the sewerage engineers to personally look after the work progress and special attention should be given to sewerage lines around Mosques and Taraweh spots. A team of water and sewerage officers accompanied him during the survey.
A survey will also be conducted to inspect the work progress, moreover if any faults are found during the inspection concerned XEN will be suspended on the spot. According to him it is religious and national duty to ensure swift provision of water and sewerage facilities to the citizens of Karachi during the holy month of Ramazan and any carelessness or mistakes in this regard will not be tolerated.
