IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reviews law, order situation

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Akbar Khan Hoti on Monday directed the police high-ups to take pre-emptive measures to maintain law and order situation in the province. "We will continue our vigorous efforts to maintain peace in the province under a proactive strategy," said the police chief while presiding over a meeting regarding law and order situation here.
Additional IGP Headquarters Khalid Masood, Additional IGP Investigation Masood Afridi, Additional IGP Special Branch Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Commandant FRP Amir Hamza Mehsood, CCPO and all RPOs attended the meeting. During the meeting, the police officials gave presentations on the current law and order situation in the province. The meeting also discussed streamlining the function of different wings of the police force.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP pointed out that proactive steps had been adopted to foil heinous approaches of miscreants and outlaws, saying that the police role was vital in this regard to maintain peace at every cost. The IGP further said that efforts were being made to eradicate corruption in the police department. The meeting also reviewed prevailing law and order situation in wake of excessive power outages in different areas of the province. The meeting stressed for ensuring full proof security to the life and property of the general public.
