Despite the non-serious attitude of the officials of provincial departments during recently held meetings, the meeting of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Sindh Assembly has been called meeting to review audit reports of different department for different financial years on August 13 and 15, 2012.
An official told Business Recorder that on the directives of Chairman PAC Jam Tamachi Unarr, Secretary Hadi Bux Buriro had issued letters to the authorities of concerned departments regarding the committee's meeting. According to the schedule, PAC would consider deferred paras/printed paras for different financial years of Home, Agriculture, Food, Sports, Excise and Taxation, Local Government, Forests, Works and Services departments on August 13, 2012.
The Committee will consider deferred/printed paras of Board of Revenue, Law, Health, Livestock and Fisheries, Culture, Tourism, Mines and Mineral development, Education and Services and General Administration departments on August 15, 2012. The Principal Accounting Officers have been asked to hold the Departmental Accounts Committee meetings well before the meetings of PAC.
All the departmental heads have been asked that 40 copies of the working papers duly reconciled with the Accountant General (AG) Sindh and concerned audit departments, as the case may be, should be submitted to the secretariat at least seven working days before the date of the meeting. The departments have further been directed that along with hard copy of working papers, soft copy may also be sent to the secretariat of the committee as the same are required for the PAC MIS system in due time without fail and ensure that the page numbering and legible and annexure to be attached.
It may be noted here that PAC held met from July 31 to August 2 this year to review audit reports of Health and Home departments but the officials of the said departments had showed non-serious attitude in the meetings, which angered the PAC, which decided to write letters to Chief Minister, Governor Sindh and concerned ministers. In this regard, Jam Tamachi Unarr told Business Recorder that the concerned officials had been warned of stern action in case of non-serious attitude toward the committee's meeting.
