KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) handled 199,000 tonnes of cargo comprising 138,514 tonnes of import cargo and 60,486 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 138,514 comprised of 64,339 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 643 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 6,948 tonnes of Canola, 5,024 tonnes of DAP, 7,227 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds and 54,333 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 60,486 tonnes comprised of 25,878 tonnes of containerized cargo, 589 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 34,019 tonnes of Clinkers.
As many as 6927 containers were handled out of which 4213 were of imports and 2714 were of exports. 4213 import containers comprised of 1578 of 20s and 1162 0f 40s. Imports empty container was 17 of 20s and 147 of 40s. Export containers 2714 comprised of 592 of 20s and 456 of 40s. Export empty containers were of 530 of 20s and 340 of 40s.
There were 06 ships namely Actuaria, M.T Shalamar, MT Quetta, Sea Power, Liberty Promise and Ningbo Express have berth at Karachi Port on Wedmesday.
There were 06 ships Diyala, Ever Dainty, Magic Victoria, CMA CTM Fidelio, Songa Buernberg, Chem Bulldog, MSC Samu and Sea Ambition have sailed out from Karachi on 02-06-2021.
There are 09 ships Molly oil, Avni, BEA Schulte container, Merry Star container, IVS Swinley Forest General cargo, MT Lahore, MOL generosity, PAC Antares general cargo and HC Jette Marit, were expected to arrive on 02-06-2021.
PORT QASIM
A total of thirteen ships were engaged at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Iron, Coal, Soya bean, Palm Kernel, Chemicals, Natural gas, Mogas and Palm oil, out of them, a Chemicals carrier ‘Chemocean Orion ’ sailed out to sea on Wednesday (today) morning, and five more ships, Shanghai Bulker, Sider Tis, Jade Blossom, Soyo and Maersk Kinloss are expected to sail from PIBT, PQEPT, LCT, PGPCL and QICT on same day in the afternoon.
Cargo handling remained upward trend at the Port on Tuesday where a cargo volume of 261,890 tonnes, comprising 232,526 tonnes imports cargo and 29,364 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,356 Containers (2,150 TEUs imports and 1,206 TEUs export), was handled during last 24 hours.
There are nineteen ships are currently at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim and waiting for berths, out of them four ships MOL Generosity, MSC Samu, Merry Star and Idee Fixe carrying Containers and Coal are expected take berths at QICT and PQEPT on Wednesday (today), 2nd June, while a container vessel ‘MOL Gorwth’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and two more ships Athenian and Jeppsen Mearsk with Containers are due to arrive on Thursday, 3rd June-2021.
