Sindh govt striving for industrial uplift: minister

KARACHI: Sindh industries and commerce minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that Sindh government is taking special interest in infrastructure rehabilitation in Sindh industrial zones.

By promoting the industries, vast employment opportunities can be created and the economy will be stable. Therefore, real development is not possible without improving the infrastructure.

Speaking at a meeting of Site Association of Industry, he said that the industrial community was grateful to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for releasing funds for development

projects at a cost of Rs1 billion at the Site.

The Sindh government is striving for industrial development and hopes that after the completion of development projects, the industrial zones will see significant improvement.

Jam Ikramullah Dharejo also called for early vaccination of industrial workers.

The minister also inspected the construction work of the Site roads and also visited the Covid-19 vaccination centre, security system and other sections set up in the Site Association and expressed satisfaction and appreciated the services.

During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given to the provincial minister on the construction work of 17 roads and he was informed that the construction work will be completed soon. On this occasion, the provincial minister issued directives to the contractor to make a break-up with the timeline this week and also assured the Site association of solving the water problem.

Abdul Hadi, president, Site Association of Industry, apprised the provincial minister of the infrastructure situation in the industrial area and appreciated the steps taken by the Sindh government for the construction and repair of roads.

SAI chief requested the minister that the hours of Covid-19 vaccination centre be increased and to depute more staff so that three times more workers could be vaccinated.

In response, the provincial minister assured the association of increasing the number of hours and staff of the vaccination centre.
