Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that judiciary should work within its constitutional ambit, adding that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has always respected the judiciary and would continue to do so in future as well.
He was talking to media at an Iftar dinner hosted by him at a local hotel on Tuesday, which was attended among others by Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro, Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, Senator Shahi Syed, Provincial Law Minister Ayaz Soomro, Sunni Tehreek leader Shakil Qadri, and large number of journalists. Memon said that the ouster of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was widely criticised all over the world.
"Judges are the government servant and no government servant can remove his boss," he opined. Criticising the PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, he termed them as root cause of the current crises being faced by the country. "Asif Ali Zardari is President of the country and he will not flee the country like Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif," Memon added
He asked Sharif brothers to refrain from false propaganda against PPP's democratic government in the larger interest of the country. On the occasion Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that any wrong decision by the Supreme Court would be condemned by the PPP at every level.
Khuhro said that there was no confrontation with the Supreme Court, adding that PPP would bring new candidate for prime minister' slot if the serving PM was ousted again by the apex court However, he made it clear that PPP workers would take to streets if any unjust decision was made against Parvaiz Ashraf.
To question, he said that Faisal Raza Abdi's remarks against the Chief Justice was his personal view, which had nothing to do with party policy. Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro said that PPP had the history of rendering sacrifices for the sake of democracy in country. He said that PPP would not let any body to violate constitution by following the footsteps of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Shaheed Zufikar Ali Bhutto.
