Youm-e-Ali: police take extraordinary security measures

Sindh police have taken extraordinary security measures under a contingency plan devised for maintaining peace during Youm-e-Ali. The contingency plan has been circulated among the DIGs, SSPs of the five districts and SHOs of Karachi. Contingency plan envisages security measures for 3328 mosques, 257 Imam Bargahs and 1007 seminaries located in East, West and South zones of the city.
Police have planned setting up 280 pickets and patrolling through 366 mobiles and 195 motorcycles. Moreover, Qaumi Razakars (Volunteers) would also be deployed along with police personnel at police stations. The watchtowers would also be set-up at high-rise buildings to conduct strict vigilance during the occasion.
