CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade corn futures firmed on Monday, strengthened by US wheat markets and uncertain weather forecasts for the cornbelt, traders said.
CBOT September corn settled up 11-3/4 cents at $5.58-3/4 per bushel and most-active December added 14 cents to settle at $5.59-1/4.
For the week ended July 29, US exporters shipped 1.38 million tonnes of corn, according to the US Department of Agriculture, up nearly 16.9% from the prior week.
Exporters have shipped 62.8 million tonnes of corn for the 2020/2021 marketing year, up 64.9% from the year prior, the USDA said.
