17 robberies, nine car-jackings reported in capital

Incidents of crime witnessed a sharp increase in the city despite tall claims of strict security arrangements, as police registered 17 cases of robberies and nine cases of car-jackings last week. Citizens complained that car thefts, robberies and other crimes had become a routine in the city, but police had completely failed in tracing the criminals in most of the cases.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, Industrial Area Police registered three cases of robberies and a case of car-jacking last week. Citizens demanded of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan to issue strict instructions to police stations to conduct special raids on criminal dens.
During the past week, Kohsar Police registered two cases of robberies and two case of car-lifting, Shalimar Police registered two cases of robberies and a case of car-lifting, Margalla Police registered two cases of car-lifting and a case of robbery and Shahzad Town Police registered two cases of robberies and a kidnapping case.
Similarly, Ramna Police registered one case each of robbery and car jacking, Apbara Police registered two cases of robberies, Lohi Bheer, Sihala and Koral police registered one case each of robbery, Tarnol Police registered one case each of robbery, and car lifting and Secretariat Police registered a case of car lifting during past week.
