KARACHI: Sindh government collected non-tax revenue of Rs14.361 billion in the financial year ended on June 30, 2021 compared to Rs9.891 billion in the previous financial year.
The actual figures of non-tax receipts released by Sindh government for the financial year 2020-21 showed that the non-tax receipts of Finance Department totaled Rs4.877 billion in the year under review compared to Rs4.407 billion in the previous year.
These non-tax receipts were collected on account of interest, dividends, fiscal administration audit etc. The collection of non-tax revenue in industries, mines and minerals departments stood at Rs871 million in fiscal year 2020-21 compared to Rs533 million.
These were collected from excise duty on minerals, industries etc. The non-tax revenue from pension justice and law courts came to Rs1.270 billion in the last fiscal compared to Rs973 million a year ago.
The non-tax receipts from police increased to Rs2.051 billion in the year under review compared to Rs1.6 billion a year ago. The receipts from highways and public health services stood at Rs406 million compared to Rs271 million.
The receipts in education, culture and tourism slightly declined to Rs182 million in the year under review compared to Rs190 million a year ago. The receipts from health, manpower, social security and religious affairs came to Rs215 million in fiscal 2020-21 compared to Rs191 million a year ago.
In the agriculture department, the receipts also rose to Rs230 million from Rs217 million a year ago. In irrigation department, the non-tax receipts stood at Rs248 million compared to Rs335 million a year ago. In general administration, the receipts plunged massively by coming to Rs512 million in fiscal 2020-21 compared to Rs1.166 billion in the previous year.
