CDA to hold colourful events on Independence Day

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made comprehensive arrangements for celebrating the Independence Day in the federal capital at Fatima Jinnah F-9 Park with colourful events and display of fireworks.
Chairman, CDA, Engineer Farkhand Iqbal said that the authority had finalised the arrangements to make this day memorable as people from different walks of life were being involved in these celebrations.
While chairing a meeting in this regard, he said, being a capital city, Islamabad would be a model in celebrations with enthusiasm and national spirit. The Chairman said that gifts had been arranged for the children participating in the celebrations. "We are expecting good participation in the fireworks and other events as a lot of people will be coming Rawalpindi and other adjoining areas of the capital city in addition to coming from different parts of the country", he said.
He added that all the major buildings will be illuminated and the roads and routs will be decorated with banners, streamers and other material including national flag reflecting the national integrity and jubilation. He directed the concerned formations to make elaborate arrangements for water supply, cleanliness, decoration and to co-ordinate with the other relevant department of the ICT for the security.
The meeting was participated by Member Environment, Mian Waheed Uddin, Director General Water Management Sana Ullah Aman, Dy DG DMA, Mansoor Ahmed Khan and the relevant directors of the authority.
